SAMe "S-adenosyl L-methionine" is approved in food supplements in Italy, so with EU equivalence it should be usable up to a maximum permitted dose. Could be medicinal.
Be aware that it is chemically unstable and degrades very quickly, so other salt forms were investigated, that have prolonged stability.
However, the current favourite S-adenosyl-L-methionine disulfate tosylate (AMDT) is a Novel Food (May 2026). There are no approved salt forms currently.
