UPDATE: As of March 2025 an application for authorisation as a Novel food has been lodged with EFSA, when a decision is reached this page will be updated.
UPDATE: As of May 2026, it has passed the safety assessment by EFSA [1]
It will now go to the EC for final approval as a Novel Food.
