Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) was reported as an unsafe ingredient on TRACES by Denmark. Please be aware that Ashwagandha cannot be imported in food supplements into Denmark, and that customers may not be aware of this when they make their orders. As such if they intend to import/export to Denmark please guide them away from using Ashwagandha in their formulations. This ban may also affect Sweden (although this decision is made on a case-by-case basis in Sweden rather than an outright ban). This ban came into force in April of 2023.
